Wisteria

Wisteria
10 x 7 soft pastels on Art Spectrum Colourfix

This wisteria is from another photo of my former garden. I love the way wisteria looks when it is in bloom. It is one of my favorite flowers. In the winter, when the canes are bare, all the tangles also create an interesting look. I was going to do this as a square painting, leaving out the two plumes at the bottom right. Now, I am not sure what possessed me to leave them in.

Thank you for ninety days of sharing your great paintings. It is takes an artist to open about the painting process. You have allowed other to know the highs and lows of your creations.

The WISTERIA has majestic qualities. I like the rectangular approach. The balance of image to the negative space brings in a diaganol that is complimentary.
The lower blossoms add a greater sense of aeral perspective to the painting. Great original creation

I think you made a good decison about composition being a rectangular format. Very smart, choice.
